ATV: the region's signature activity
In Cappadocia, ATV is sold mostly as a sunset tour, guided around Love Valley and Red Valley. The distinction between a guided tour and free rental matters here in particular: the valley routes are protected areas and free riding is not possible everywhere.
Dust matters more here than anywhere else. Riding in a group without goggles and a dust mask means missing half of what you came to see.
Camping and campervans
The region is hot by day and markedly cool at night, even in summer. Choose a sleeping bag accordingly: one that is fine on the coast will leave you cold here.
For campervans, Cappadocia has some of the better-developed infrastructure and works all year. In winter the snow-covered fairy chimneys make a different kind of route — but night temperatures drop sharply and a heated vehicle is necessary.
